Tracy Thompson is the owner of the Family Therapy Place, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Tracy specializes in working with children, families and couples who have discovered that relationships can be challenging and can leave people feelings hurt or hopeless. Tracy's work is helping people in relationships to find safety in the connection of their relationships through attachment building experiences in session. Tracy’s training and speciality is with children and adults who have experienced developmental trauma, often due to neglect or abuse. Tracy has a strong belief and training in the experiences of attachment and works with families to rebuild and nurture attachments when they have been broken. Tracy also works with adult families that are working to manage and resolve conflict that has surfaced or created separation within the family. Tracy works with couples from an attachment based approach and helps clients to identify their own wounds from early attachment to begin to find understanding and healing. This allows for individuals within the couple to develop self love and leadership to make more room for closeness and secure attachment to their partner. She uses a variety of mediums when working with clients, and also works with children and parents together to help create a safe and strong support for the child. She sees her role as coming alongside clients and trying to holistically meet them at their unique point of need.
